When I entered this class, I had no clue what it would be about. The only thing I knew for sure was that it was some computer course that I had to take for my program if I want to enroll in Computer Science Specialist as a subject POSt.
I have already had some programming experience from high school, mainly java. We were taught by being given tutorials on how to make programs, which just gave us a bunch of code to copy and paste with some space to fill in the blanks and modify the programs. A lot of the basic concepts were never taught, so we just had to figure them out by looking at incomplete code and trying to fix it. This came very easily to me, and I was able to get through the assignments with only a little bit of understanding of what I was actually doing.
So far CSC165 seems rather simple to me, as I have learned a lot of the logic in either high school from philosophy, or in MAT137 about two classes before. That being said, I do like where this is going. The course content is interesting, and seems very relevant to programming as I am sure is the intention.
